About Me

Christine Miller is a DC resident and parent who has lived in Ward 1 for 15 years. Ms. Miller has more than a decade of experience living and working in the Middle East in both academics and international development where she researched, wrote, and worked on economic and governance issues throughout the Middle East and Africa. She also provided support in the development of new businesses initiatives and proposal writing efforts while working with several USAID contractors. ​​

Over the course of the past five years, Ms. Miller has shifted her focus to local advocacy work in education and currently supports local Ward 1 schools in a variety of capacities. She is a member of PAVE’s Ward 1 PLE Board and Chair of her school’s Local School Advisory Team (LSAT). As the President of the Parent Teacher Organization she led and oversaw the group’s successful transition to a fully licensed and registered 501(c)(3) organization and during her administration has successfully applied for and been awarded grants with DCCAH and MOLA.

Ms. Miller is currently serving as a Commissioner for Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1A (Columbia Heights) and is Chair of the Commission’s Education Committee. Ms. Miller graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and has a Masters in International Relations from the American University in Cairo. She speaks multiple languages and has two daughters currently attending Bancroft Elementary, a DCPS bilingual school.

Work with local businesses, community leaders, and area schools to create engagement and cooperation. Working to develop students' civic activities througout Columbia Heights and Mt. Pleasant.
